With gas prices going up steadily and heading towards $5 in some areas, are you still planning on going on vacation this summer, if you were planning on it in the first place, or are you having a "staycation?"

I had three vacations so far this year. One was about twelve days in May spent visiting my Mom. The second was back to see my Mom in July. The third was with my roommate to visit the outlet malls in San Marcos along with San Antonio. She hauled off the outlet mall, all I bought was a pair of Nike Shox and a three-pack of Nike socks.

I am going to have to stay home for a while as my "Vacation and Insurance" savings account is depleted.

We take ours in the spring and/or fall when kids in school. Gas won't affect our plans.

Never take summer vacations as there is always too many kids about. A nice southern holiday in the winter with warm beaches and quiet restaurants is my way to fly.

Our little diesel takes next to nothing to run and our southern neighbors see such cheap fuel that it's always a pleasure to get down there again.

Maybe a "not so far" few day cheap vacation to something related to nature, or the huge CV Fair in Vermont in Aug/Sept. or something like seeing the Foliage in VT (& lots of Gas prices while up there). But our annual trip to Aruba to our timeshare, does NOT look like it will be happening!!! Not just the high Gas prices, but the ridiculous increase in Air(un)fare & the horrible economy! We can't afford it!

You're on vacation in your RV. Gas is really high.
So WHY do every single one of you gun it up the hill in the right lane so no one can pass and then go back to dawdling the minute the lane ends? Just dawdle along all the time and let others pass you when it's safe!

We returned home in April to get the taxes finished after wintering four months in Arizona on our Property in our 45 ft Holiday Rambler Navigator Class A Coach.

We headed back out in RV again the week prior to Memorial Day for a 30 day 4,500 mile round trip vacation to the southern tip of Florida and then up the East coast to Savannah before heading back home to Kansas.

While we're home for the heat of the summer and taking care of the garden and property the kids have visited from St Louis and Denver and then we're heading back out again shortly after Labor Day weekend to do some leaf peeping along the NE coast on up to Maine for three weeks.

You only go around once in life, live it to the fullest and being retired we make the most of it.

i will be driving from Boston, MA to Orlando, FL in August regardless of the price of gas. with 6 ppl it is cheaper to rent an suv and put gas in it than it is to fly per person, saves roughly $100 per person...

First excursion was completed back in early May ...

Next trip is eminent, and should not be any problem since fuel prices are falling between here and there ...
