In Florida, Ga and actually, wherever Publix Supermarkets are located, they run a GREAT promo about 6 times a year..
Very simple...the week the Promo is active, buy $50.00 worth of groceries (Very easy to do in this day and age) and with their Promo Coupon you buy a $50.00 gas card of your choice for $40.00...
When they run it...Me and the wife run two tabs, pick up 2 gas cards and save ourselves $20.00 in just 2 transactions.
Dollar for Dollar and due to the high amount they run this in a year, no one Comes CLOSER to saving money for Gasoline as with their promotions.
Do the math, and you will see, and hope Publix is around the corner from you.

I use hotel cards, and get free hotel stays for my gasoline purchases.

@OceanArcher: That's the truth about using any credit card, OA. One has to have the self discipline to put the cash one would have spent at the time of purchase away instead of spending it as windfall income, so as to have it available to pay off the creditcard each month when it comes due. You either use the credit card, or it uses you. I realized this fact over three decades ago, and haven't paid a dime in credit card interest since.

Only problem with them gas cards -- if you don't pay them off in full each month, then you start racking up interest fees on the unpaid portion, and that defeats the discounts

I used to use the Shell one, but they kept changing the terms of it so I stopped.
