Here in MA- before the price spike 1-2 weeks ago, we had some stations at $2.99 per gallon & other at $4.63!

Welcome Tyler. I'm moving this discussion to General Gas Talk.

I assume TylerJ2005 didn't mean to ask the moderators why gas is "priced from one extreme to the other", whatever that means. That said, perhaps after this topic is moved to a more appropriate discussion category, TylerJ2005 can explain what he means by stations "would be right around the same" and now having "a $.15 difference from another gas station."
Gas prices in his/her area, Oklahoma range from about $3.07 to $3.69 a gallon. That approximate price differential has existed for years.
That said, unless TylerJ2005 is asking something of the moderators, perhaps why they permit a wide price differential on the home page, it seems to make sense to move this topic to a more appropriate category.
Just my opinion.

Why do Oreos cost $2.97 at Wal-Mart and $4.79 at Safeway? That's almost a $2 difference.
