If the station is busy, I pass on the windshield cleaning and oil level check, just gas up and get out of the way.

If our group is in snacking mode, I fill up, then pull off to the side while everyone stocks up on Slurpees and Slim Jims.

I always pay-at-the-pump. Nothing worse than standing in line behind people who need their nicotine/caffeine/gambling fix more than they need to get down the road.

Station owners need to install separate lanes for trucks pulling boats. These guys take freakin' forever; 30 gallons in the dually truck and another 50 gallons in their jet boat.

Any more ideas?

I pumped and pull over to go in store.
Have never checked my oil at garage. That is done in our driveway.

My diesel doesn't demand much gas station time so whatever I do has minimal impact on whatever is going on.

Besides, with the high gas prices, there is very little gas station activity to interrupt.

Gas up at Costco theres nothing to do except pump fuel and most people only go on the right side of the pumps as they don't seem to be able to pull the hose across the back of their car to pump fuel so that line is shorter.

1)Go to the proper gas pump
2)Keep your mind on what your there for(leave cell phone in car)
3)Some people have 2 speeds, slow & stop, show some courtesy for others, try picking up the pace.
4)If your going to buy out the store for lottery tickets, cigs, etc.move your vehicle to the side.
5)If your going to do the car wash with the window squeegee, have someone in your vehicle do it while you fill up.Or better still wash your car @ home.
6)Have your card/cash ready to pay while you wait in line(in store), not pull it out when its your turn to pay.
7)When all is done and your ready to leave, MUST YOU CHECK THAT G** D*** CELL PHONE, before you start your car??
Whew i feel better now lol.

I always make sure to close my door, so that others can pass if necessary.

I purchase my fuel with a credit card, stand at the pump while filling up and wash the windows (I live on dirt roads) and exit as soon as possible. It should be noted that this station is a truck stop which has 16 pumps, so there usually isn't a backlog of vehicles. I never leave the pump unattended.

I never buy anything at a gas station other than gas... Many stations don't bother to keep their windshield washing stations in good working order anyway.

Gas-and-go.

I check oil at home since I don't buy oil at the gas station. I clean the windows while the gas is pumping since I always buy at least 8-9 gallons, which is enough time to clean the front windshield and run back to supervise the pump.

I usually try to go to the gas station at a time when it isn't busy (generally, at a time other than rush hour.) However, if it is busy, then I try to be as quick as possible and simply move on.

I go as fast as possible, but I wouldn't skip cleaning the windows if they need it.

I agree with getting through at the pump as quickly as possible. This includes having the credit/debit card ready to go. I've seen women fumble in their purses and men searching through their wallets to find the darned thing while standing at the pump. Also, turn off the engine while waiting for a pump to come free. Nothing worse than being gassed by exhaust fumes, particularly from the big diesel pickups.
