"I'm confused. Did she agree to a price already and wants to back out? If not, how can a private company, especially one from another country, possibly have the ability or legal right to use eminent domain. There must be a number of facts I'm not aware of and are too voluminous to put in an article." ============= Kind of, as I understand it, she went thru the process. First she did not accept any of Transcanada's offers. It then went to a hearing in front of special commissioners who would have deemed a fair market value that Transcanada would pay. At that point, she did not accept the hearings decision of payment. Regardless, Transcanada would then be granted the right to access the easement even while Crawford appealed to district court, she can only appeal the monetary decision. Then her attorneys took the restraining order route and here we are today. Hope that helps.

Excellent post, right to the point. Many times I get too political but I'm really dislike what DC is forcing us into and many don't see it.

"How about they develop the technology to run ships on seawater" Probably sine seawater is not a fuel. It is the end result of a spent chemical reaction. It takes energy to break seawater into it's components. What are you going to use as an energy source on a ship to do this?

Thanks for your post on the GM board. I agree with your comments. Not only gas prices, if they stay up for a lengthy time, but housing is still at least two years away from some sort of recovery. The good news is that GM is profitable at just 10M SAAR, and we are currently runing in the 12-13M SAAR, so even if sales are stagnent, our companies will survive, and then be REALLY profitable when our economy finally corrects itself--which is in itself questionable!! Please visit the GM board often. There is always news to be gleaned there, if you are a car fan.
