I was under the impression from a news story this week that refineries were running at capacity and were not making any money. How is bringing in even more crude oil going to fix that?

These moves by the refiners mentioned in this article makes sense to me. Why not increase your use of domestic light crude and decrease your use of heavy foreign oil.

I'm guessing that you're not too thrilled that the President comes from your neck of the woods, @uptherefiners? Feeling a bit conflicted?
We're not gonna drill our way out of this problem. I don't care how much money big Oil makes, those dividend checks to the shareholders don't make up for the fact that the American people are being robbed.

They are having a fracking good time down in Texas. I hope the unintended side effects do not come back to bite us in the a** a few years from now. We are pumping a lot of poison into the ground without knowing what will become of it.

The big question is what percentage of this product will be going overseas?

Really, DEG? Because all we need to jumpstart this economy is more oil? More oil just means more money for Big Oil. Gas prices won't come down one penny.
This supply-side, trickle down economics is a failed policy, championed by so-called experts that are short on facts and long on wishful thinking.
The only thing that trickles down to the rest of us is the BS.

------------------------------------------------------- Warren Buffet Owns Burlington Northern. Burlington Northern hauls 25% of Bakken oil. Does this(not) clear up any question about why our 'president of change' killed the pipeline?

Good problem to have. Growing pains.
Get BHO & Co. and other greenies out of the way and things will happen faster and at lower cost.

If Obama is re-elected; I expect that he'll have the EPA drag its feet or put pressure on the operations to shut down the use of shale oil. Anything to keep the US economy on the ropes while his administration runs up annual deficits greater than $1Trillion per year.

What is produced will go to the highest bidder and will not lower the domestic price of U.S. gasoline.
